About a month ago, I was concerned about my lower back pain. I finally went to physio to get myself assessed and it turns out that my hamstrings are extremely tight. What happens is the hamstrings are tight, pulling on my pelvis and the back muscles that are connected to my pelvis are pulled, causing a pain in my lower back. Ow. I am doing some exercises to ‘turn off’ my hamstrings from having too much tension. It’s really hard since my hamstrings have been tense for x years of my life. I have to start including yoga into my training regime to get myself more flexible.
Besides the downside of recovering from back pains, I got a job offer at the gym I currently attend! I got an email from the Member Services lead asking me to join the team–no interview at all! The back story is that I went for an interview for another position, they rejected me, and told me there will be a position opening up later in the summer. So I apparently was top pick for two different managers, therefore no interview, and a job offer! Woot! I am really excited because I really love the people there, pay is more than minimum, 2 free gym memberships, and 50% personal training! What really got me pumped too was that I can get my personal training certification and start at my gym rather than work my way into a private gym (school personal trainers are not that helpful…sorry, but it’s true).
As for my current job….I really don’t think I am made for a retail position, especially in a department store.
Congrats on your new job!
